Titan or Titanic??

Richelieu's newest nightspot opened last Saturday in the premises of the former Discotheque "Volcanic".

We fondly remember the light shows from the Volcanic, which could be seen on a Friday and Saturday night, arcing across the sky. The effect was that of someone with a torch standing at the entrance to the building waving the light in an arc up and down. They must have been paid fairly well because this 'display' went on well into the early hours.

Sadly, but not surprisingly, the Volcanic closed it doors some time ago. As it is situated out in the wilds, several kilometres from any form of life, we were amazed it ever got off the ground in the first place. Nor did it look 'the part'. It had the appearance of a derelict shed, with an unwelcoming sign and little apparent attempt to pull in the crowds. In addition there is the slight problem of the Gendarmes and their speed cameras. They are regularly seen on the D757 upon which the discotheque is situated.... Problems there perhaps...

We passed a couple of weeks ago and there were signs of life: a new sign of life, to be exact...

"TITAN"

Now I admit the photo isn't brilliant but it was difficult from the passenger seat of a moving car...

However, will this be

When the doors of TITAN Discotheque, Richelieu, opened there was no arcing light in the sky... Could this be the venue of the future?? the answer for the youth of Richelieu and its surrounding villages?? or will it sink like its (almost) namesake.... Titanic?! The jury's out as far as we're concerned. ...

In the meantime, if you fancy a night out, why not check out Titan....

............It's a shame, but we're reorganising our sock drawers that night...

Perhaps it may sink on its maiden voyage....
